The Evergreen State College senior Zeb Hoffman got his 2017 season off to a solid start last Saturday and as a result has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Red Lion men's outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Representing Evergreen for the first time this season, Hoffman won the hammer throw at the Pacific Luau, hosted by Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore., with a throw of 194 feet 5 inches (59.25m). The senior from Olympia is the defending NAIA champion in the hammer throw and currently ranks fourth on the national list. He earned CCC Field Athlete of the Week recognition twice last year, once each during the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Hoffman and his Geoducks teammates return to action on Saturday, April 22, when they compete at the Cougar Open hosted by Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Ore.
