ABOUT THE GEODUCKS: Evergreen (5-20 overall, 4-14 CCC) played seven of its final 10 conference matches on the road - including two this weekend - after playing host seven time out of 10 during the first half of the CCC schedule. The Geoducks were happy to be at home for Senior Day last Sunday, ending a string of five consecutive losses on the road with a four-set victory over Walla Walla. Evergreen season leaders include sophomore outside hitter
Natalie Taylor (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Lake City HS) with 3.55 kills per set, senior middle hitter
Jorden Porter (Belgrade, Mont./Belgrade HS/Walla Walla CC) with a .252 attack percentage, senior setter
Kylie Kytan (Puyallup, Wash./Puyallup HS/Pierce College) with 8.89 assists per set, freshman middle blocker
Bethanie Nelson (Pasco, Wash./Chiawana HS) with 0.76 blocks per set, and freshman libero
Megan Breckenridge (Sequim, Wash./Sequim HS) with 3.18 digs per set. Junior libero
Cheyenne Baird (Puyallup, Wash./Puyallup HS) played the first third of the season and averaged 4.36 digs per set before suffering a season-ending knee injury.
ABOUT MULTNOMAH: The Lions (10-17, 3-15) trail the Geoducks by one game for ninth place in the conference standings, so tonight's match has meaning for both teams. Miranda Halverson leads Multnomah with 2.73 kills per set and Patty Batoon averages 0.84 blocks per set. The Geoducks swept Multnomah, 25-18, 25-20, 25-16, when these teams met in Evergreen's conference opener way back on Sept. 2.
ABOUT WARNER PACIFIC: Much is still at stake for the Knights, who are battling Northwest Christian for the sixth-and-final berth in the conference postseason tournament. The Knights feature two of the top hitters in the conference in Janessa White with 3.72 kills per set and a .280 attack percentage, and Janessa Mast with her 3.65 kills per set. M'Kailah Redden is among the league leaders with 1.07 blocks per set, and Kealia Rosa is likewise a CCC standout with 10.20 assists per set. Warner defeated Evergreen, 26-24, 22-25, 25-17, 25-20, when these teams faced each other on Sept. 3 in Olympia.
LAST WEEK: Natalie Taylor recorded 17 kills and
Megan Breckenridge led all players with 17 digs but it wasn't enough to prevent Evergreen from dropping a 25-19, 26-24, 14-25, 25-17 road decision to Northwest University last Friday. Two days later, playing at home for the final time this season, the Geoducks defeated Multnomah 25-12, 16-25, 25-16, 25-15. Seniors
Kylie Kytan and
Jorden Porter both played well on Senior Day, Kytan finishing with 40 assists and two service aces and Porter recording 12 kills while hitting .345.
